China’s Jiuhua Mountain is home to not only the largest statue of a Bodhisattva, but the largest statue in the world. The gold figure is located at one of the four major Buddhist shrines in China. Trumping the 150 ft Statue of Liberty, the shrine stands 500 ft tall. In the Buddhist religion, Bodhisattvas have attained enlightenment, but renounced nirvana in order to help humanity.
